This is a pre-season collegiate event held on March 14, 2009 featuring both Ivy League and International crews who will be training in Tampa. The Mayor's Cup is orchestrated by The Stewards Foundation, Inc. The regatta features separate competition for High School, Club, and Masters.

Site: The event will take place Seddon Channel between the south tip of Harbour Island north to th area of approximately The Tampa General Hospital on Davis Island (Competition Distance 1500 meters). Seddon Channel flows between Harbour Island and Davis Island.
Time and Duration: 8 AM to approximately 4 PM
Competition Categories: University Division, High School Division, Masters Division and General LeMoyne Community Cup Division
Early Commitments: Yale University, Colgate University, Temple University, Marietta College, Stetson University, Miami University, UCF, The Kent School, Winter Park High School, Tampa area high schools
Spectator Areas: Spectators will be able to view the heats from Tampa General Hospital Park adjacent to the new parking garage, Marjorie Park Marina, The Junior League of Tampa
Saftey for Competition: Coast Gaurd permit application will ask for complete closure of Seddon Channel to power boat traffic with enforcement present during cometition
Conduct for Competing: Licensed Officials from US Rowing
Operation Managment: Organized by The Stewards Foundation, Inc and supported by a volunteer committee from th community with opperation support from Southern Command at MacDill AFB, Tampa
